EVERYBODY’S THEATRE.
LAST NIGHT OF CHARLES CHAPLIN, RICHARD BARKER, AND
BETTY BALFOUR.,
Charlie Chaplin, in “The Idle Class”; Richard Bartlielmess, in “Sonny”; and Betty Balfour, in “Mary Find the Gold”; attracted another large audience at Everybody’s last night, and all present i thoroughly enjoyed these productions. Intending patrons are reminded that to-night is the last opportunity of seeing this programme. At to-morrow’s matinee Wheeler Oakman with an all-star cast in “The Half-Breed” and John Gilbert in “The Yellow Stain” are the two headliners to which is added other first-class pictures. A gripping drama of red blood versus white culture, a play which views the barrier of caste from a new angle is “The Half-Breed,” starring Wheeler Oakman. The story centres about an educated half-breed, half Indian and half white, who dares to offer his love to a white girl in a high social position. The picture is full of virile interest—the outcast half-breed, battering against the barriers of social caste for recognition; moments of tender appeal—shattered love and the finding of a new ideal; big spectacular scenes — the race for safety with a maddened stampede. These are some of the ingredients that have combined to make one of the truly praiseworthy advances of the, day. A strong dramatic feature depicting the romance of a young village lawyer who became a community hero. The “Yellow Stain,”, produced by Fox. with John Gilbert as the star,( is a delightful romance with thrills in abundance. Clever Claire Anderson is Gilbert’s chief support. Box plan, as usual at Miller’s Corner.
