PROHIBITION’S THREAT.
CAMPAIGN AGAINST SACRA-
MENTAL WINE
NEW YORK, Dec. 24
Consternation has been caused among the clergy and ministers of all denominations by an announcement from Dr Day, the Director of Prohibition Enforcement, that steps are to be taken to prevent the use of fermented wine for sacramental purposes. The clergy assert that the Church law demands the use of such wine, and one declared that any attempt to enforce prohibition in this direction will precipitate a religious war. —Central News.
