A romantic story of love at firstsight lies behind the announcement of the forthcoming wedding of Lord Angus Kennedy, third son of the Marquis of Aifsa, who lias become, engaged to Miss Gertrude Millicent Cooper, younger daughter of Air and Mrs Gervas Weir Cooper, of Clifton Hill. St. John’s Wood.
“We only mot each other about two months ago,” said Yliss Cooper, which is a vivacious girl of eighteen. “It was at a dinner party, and we found that our tastes and inclinations were very much alike. “Both"of us are very fond of animals, and we spent many nappy days together at the Zoo and elsewhere. ‘‘l suppose my views are what would be called old-fashioned. I think politics and the more serious work of the world should be lelt to the men. Lord Angus, who is thirty-nine, but looks younger, said they were hoping to get"married at the cud of January. “I am interested in scientific affairs,” he said. “Some time ago 1 founded a scientific welding business, which I recently turned into a limited liability company, with myself as managing director. Most of our employees are cx-Service men, and they are" given a share in the prefits.’’ Lord Angus is a practical engineer, and has served an apprenticeship in a big shipbuilding yard. During the war ho served in the Royal Air It orce. His father, the Marquis of Ailsa, is a big landowner in Ayrshire.
