DRASTIC “CUT” IN FEDERAL AIR FORCE.
SYDNEY, Dec. 29. A special article in the Herald calls attention to the costly item of Federal economy which reduces the air force to inefficiency. Only five squadrons of the_ seven planned as a minimum remain as the result of a reduction of £IOO,OOO in the air force vote- Instead of eighteen machines per squadron there are now only four, or the whole force has been reduced from ninety to nineteen. lire officers and men have been reduced - from 138,791 to 45..252.
