EVERYBODY’S THEATRE.
“THE BELLS” AND “INTRUSION
OF ISOBEL”
Henry Irving, is not more famous for any or his great stage successes than “The Bells” the picturisation of which is the starring attraction at Everybody’s Theatre. Frank Keenan who is in the star role of this feature, is seen in one of the most powerful character roles, as Mathias the inn-keeper. The winter has been very hard and he finds himself unable to' pay the landlord Lisparre, who demands his money. Then tempted bv the money which he knows the Jew, Koveski, to Ire carrying, lie murders the latter and is ever afterwards haunted by the ringing of the bells of the murdered Jew’s sleigh. Vividly and in the role of a truly master actor, does lie portray the terror and agony of mind, when his crime is repeatedly recalled by the bells, and the death jf the murderer who dies as the result of a dream in which he imagines that he is being hypnotised and made to tell his secret. “The Intrusion of Isobel” starring Mary Miles Minter as the heroine, takes up her abode in a bachelor establishment with neither introduction nor invitation and a startling story ensues. The supports, especially the special Vitagraph comedy “Pipe Dreams and Prizes” are very fine. This programme will he repeated to-night.
