ESPERANTO CONFERENCE
ABOLITION OF WAR. CHIEF OBJECTIVE. GERMAN DELEGATES WELCOME BRITISHERS. PRAGUE, Aug. 9. ■ Over 2700 men and women delegates from forty nationalities, including official representatives from Belgium, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Saxony, Ukraine, and Jugo-Slavia, are attending the Esperanto Conference.
Doctor Nitobe, the League of Nations. representative, said that no international subject was more important than an international language. The abolition of war was their chief objective. He anticipated a period when peace-seekers of all nations would find a common language. The German esperantists particularly warmly welcomed the Britishers, gathering at stations and cheering them en route. The national costumes ball formed a most impressive and picturesque scene.—A. and N.Z. C.A.
