AUCKLAND ABATTOIRS DISPUTE AUCKLAND, Aug. 9. A conference of parties in the City Abattoirs dispute was held to-day onsummons by tho Industrial Commissioner, following the union’s application for an interpretation of the award in regard to cutting up carcases. The City Council disputed the union’s position, but the Commissioner held that an attempt had been made by the Union to settle the matter, and, therefore, he was in a position to deal with the matter, but required evidence, and as the manager of the abattoirs was in hospital, proceedings were adjourned.—P.A.
