The Arahura wa<s expected to leave Napier for Gisborne at 8 o'clock last night and is due here this morning. On arrival here she will be tendered with the launch for inward passengers at 5 a.m. and at 5 p.m. for outward passengers, proceeding later to Auckland, via Tokomaru Bay.

The Ripple is due from Napier tomorrow and sails on Monday afternoon for Napier and Wellington. The Putiki is expected from the Coast to-morrow and after discharging here she proceeds to Napier. The Fairburn arrived from Napier yesterday morning and is at present engaged in loading 30,000 ft of timber for Wairoa. She is expected to leave for that port on Monday. The Tangaroa sailed for Wairoa at 10.15 on Thursday night, but owing to her port propeller shaft breaking when she was going down, the river the steamer returned to the wharf. She was placed on the "iiard" yesterday morning to ascertain the extent of the damage and when it was found that the other propellor was still intact it was decided to wait until repairs were effected. A new shaft is being shipped by the Arahura from Napier. J. J. Niven and Co. are to be entrusted with the work of fitting it. If the job cannot be done satisfactorily at Gisborne, it is understood that the vessel will be towed to Napier.
