POVERTY BAY MOTION CARRIED

At a special meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council a motion was moved by Poverty Bay and was carried that no challenges for the Hawke Clip and Heathcote Williams Shield he received before October 1 each season. and that the committee reserve the right to arrange priority of challenges. A Wellington motion was lost that the Plunket Shield rules be revised so that thirty per cent, be paid to a visiting association with a minimum of £3O, any loss to be borne by the local association. It was reported that the tour of the Australian team would when the accounts were finally settled, show a credit of over £IOOO. Regarding the visit of the English team it was stated that four of the Australian associations would allow the Council 75 per cent, of the receipts and matches would he played at Dunedin and Auckland at the Council's risk, the Council taking ten per cent, of the profits if any. Cablegrams being exchanged with the Maryieboue Club show that there was every probability of an attractive team being sent out. The personnel lias not vet been disclosed. —P.A.
