BUCK JONES AND ROBERT WARWICK.

The new programme presented at the Palace Theatre yesterday is one of the brightest and most entertaining that has been submitted for some time. Robert Warwick, tlie popular Paramount player, and Lois Wilson, are starred in a picturisation of George Barr McCutcheon’s gripping story of romance, mystery and adventure, “A City of Masks.” In a big city there are a number of the impoverished nobility who meet once a week at a house where they dress as they did in their better’ days. Robert Warwick lias the role of a chauffeur, who is Sir Eric Temple to his familiars. He falls in love with a governess, also of noble birth;' and ■while protecting her from the attentions of her rich employer’s son, becomes involved in a series of adventures. Buck Jones, who is known as the only rival to Tom M:x, appears in the name-part of '‘Sunset Sprague.” Ihe play is full of stirring action. The plot revjolves around the ownership of a very rich mine. The manager desires to obtain possession of it. In order to do this he makes love to tho daughter of the owner, who is eventually killed. The girl’s undo is sent for; he brings with him “Sunfset Sprague.” Both of them meet with numerous adventures, which threaten) their lives, 'but tho 'plots to lUII them are foiled by a Mexican, who desires the hand of the girl. Eventually the villain meets with his > just deserts. Tho comedy is full of big laughing scenes, and tlie supporting films are well chosen. A matinee will bo held to-day at 2. The plan is at Muir’s.
