LICENSING COMMITTEE.

REPORT OF ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Gisborne Incensing Committee was held in the Court-house yesterday morning, there being present: Messrs J. S. Barton, S.M. (chairman), H. H. DeCosta, 11. Miller, and J. C. Collins. Senior-Sergt. Quinn reported favorably on the conduct of all the licensed premises in the Borough, while similar reports were received in connection with all other hotels in the district.

The report of the District Health Officer indicated a number of improvements to various premises which were recommended, but as it was reported that in all cases the licensees were taking the necessary steps, no further action was taken.

Renewals (Publicans): Edwin Gibb. Masonic Hotel. Gisborne; Charles James McCarthy, British Empire Hotel, Gisborne; Joseph John Martin, Royal Hotel, Gisborne; Joseph Owen Jones, Record Reign Hotel, Gisborne; Bertie Albert Lowe, ltoseland Hotel, Gisborne ; Frederick William W ilkinson, Hot Springs Hotel, Gisborne; Horace George Jones, Gisborne Hotel, Gisborne; John William Hopper, Wairoa Hotel, Wairoa.
