CIVIL WAR IN CHINA.
FIGHTING GN WEST FRONT. BRITISH SQUADRON'AT TIENTSIN. PEKIN. July 13: General Cliangkeveit’s troops have left Tungchow for Pekin. It is understood they are coming as neutrals to preserve peace. Refugees are still arriving, all seeking food. Perfect order prevails in the city, though the excitement is undiminished. Fighting continues on the west front. According to Tientsin advices the Manchurian commander, with one hundred thousand men, who hitherto have adopted a policy of armed neutrality and were regarded as a deciding factor in the situation, are now heavily reinforcing the Chih-li-ties troop. Trains from Mukden are hourly passing Tientsin to the front. In addition a British squadron, under Admiral Duff, and two Japanese torpedoers, have arrived at Tientsin. Railway communication with Pekin has been re-opened.—. Times.
