Messrs. C. Wagborn and W. Findlav were yesterday elected members of the Chamber of Commerce.
The member for Chitlin (Mr A. S. Malcolm) was yesterday appointed chairman of committees of the House unopposed. Mr Malcolm briefly returned thanks.—P.A. Wire.- 1 , Miss Mabel Langlands, assistant to Mr A. W. G. Mann,, chemist, received notice yesterday that she had qualified for her final pharmaceutical examination.
Oh behalf of members of tlie Kahutia. Bowling Club', Sir James -Carroll on Thursday presented Mr J. Colley with a silver tea-pot, to /mark the occasion of his silver wedding. Tbs recipient suitably responded. Captain H. E. Greenstreet, late commodore of the New Zealand Shipping Company’s fleet, passed through Gisborne yesterday by the Mokoia on a trip north. He returns to England by the "Ruahine in August. Mr. E; R. Norrie, of the Magistrate’s Court, Wellington, arrived in Gisboz'iie vosterday morning to act in the capacity of deputy clerk of the Court* during the absence of Mr. G. J. A. Johnstone, who is proceeding on extended leave.
