THE PICTURE SHOWS.
EVERYBODY'S. The two feature programme 1 which patrons at Everybody’s have been given so regularly in the past will be screened as usual to-day. notwithstanding the announcement of a railway strike. The programme promises to be one of exceptional merit, for one of the stars is '‘Carmen of the Klondykq,” a story of the frozen north, of wild men and dance halls, and of a woman, whose role, as Carmen of the Klomlyke, is one of the most remarkable pieces of character studies yet given to the screen. This part is played to perfection by Clara Williams, and as a woman who goes into the wilds of the Arctic snows to marry her lover, she makes the most of the part. Amid the wild life of the Tvlondyke she meets with a terrible disappointment, love turns to fury, and a good woman becomes a passionate Carmen. The magnificent beauty of a snow setting forms for the play a background which increases the realism of this stirring story. Exciting incidents abound, a terrific fight, and a sensational sleigh ride being only two of the big scenes. In "The Bluffer." starring June Divulge. there is told a fascinating story of modern society, and of the tragedy in the life of a woman who is asked to make a choice between bluff and poverty. Some big moment's occur in this well-staged film, the cast of which includes June Elvidge. _ At the matinee "Carmen of the Kloi.dykc” and a good supporting programme will be shown.
