Mr FRED. GRAY'S SALE,

Mr Fred. Gray reports on his weekly horse and poultry sale as follows; Horses (6 entiXi.es): One liaclc £lO, 1 do. £3 ss. One weaner pig realised 18s. Poultry (144 entries): Large entries are still coming forward, and good prices are being maintained. The following prices were realised: Turkey gobblers (light) 7s 9d to 8s each, the advertised W.L. pullets brought 8s 6d each, W.Lliens 4s Id to 7s each, W. L. cockerels 2s lid to 4s each, 8.0. cockerels 4s to 6s each. S.W. cockerels 4s Id to 4s 9d each. Ordinary lines: Hens 3s 6d to 4s 9d each, roosters 4s 4d to 4s 6d each, cockerels (small) Is Id to 2s lid each, ducks and drakes 3s 5d to 4s Id.

MATAWIIERO SALE. The New Zealand Loan .and Mercan- i tile Agency Company, Limited, report j that at their weekly live stock sale held at the Matawhero yards on Wednesday they offered a large yarding of sheep and a few pens of cattle. The. attendance was smaller than usual, owing no doubt to the. wet weather; however, those in attendance were keen on business. Bidding for all classes of sheep was very brisk, and a splendid clearance was effected under the hammer, at prices in advance of our recent sales. Fat cattle sold well up to freezing rates, and wo are pleased to report a slight improvement in store cattle, though the sales made were still in favor of buyers. The firm’s yarding included 7866 sheep, of which number 7029 sold; 120 head of cattle, 89 sold; 3 pigs, sold. The following prices were realised during the day: Fat wethers 34s to 35s 3d, fat. ewes 30s 5d to 31s 3d. lighter 26s to 28s (id, good 2-tooth wethers 29s 7d to 31s 7d (about 2000 selling at these figures), medium 2-tooth v* ethers 27s to 27s 7d. cull do. 21s. forward ewes 25s 7d to 26s 9d, aged ewes 15s to 20s 9cL good woolly lambs 20s (id to 21s Od. medium do. 17s, 2-tooth empty ewes 25s 9d to 20s, cull do. 10s 9d. good shorn wether lambs 17s 9d. medium do. 11s 10d. culls 8s to 10s. Fat. bullocks, Jurht weight, good quality, £ls 7s Od to MG 12s fi(l. heifers £9 12s od, cull woaners 30s to £2 7s (id, springing heifers £6 10s. Pigs, porkers, £2 11s.
