' LEATHER FROM RABBIT PELTSBRISBANE. April 23. Dr Bnttrell has discovered a process for turning rabbit pelts into leather and retaining the fur for present use. The pelts when tanned make a light flexible leather, which has received high commendation from leather experts. A company lias been formed to exploit the process. The Braeside, a five-masted barquentino of 2SOO tons, the largest wooden ship built in the Commonwealth, was launched on the Parramatta River, ine vessel was originally ordered by *<ia Federal Government, but was recently purchased by Burns.
