Reserved judgment was given by Mr J. S. Barton. S.M.. yesterday, in the case Frederick R. A. Reynolds (Mr. Kirk) v. W. G. A. Reynolds (Mr Bullard), a claim for £7l 10s, being amount overpaid for 13 strange cattle included in a valuation when their partnership in a station was dissolved. Judgment was entered for plaintiff for £66. with costs £23 7s 6d.

This evening a juvenile entertainment. "Babes in the Wood,” will be staged at His Majesty’s Theatre by Mrs May and her pupiis, in aid of the Salvation Army funds. Amongst several attractive items to be given during the evening are a contralto solo by Mrs Amy Jeffrey and a scarecrow specialty by Mr May. The box plan is at Mr C. W. Muir’s, stationer. An appeal is being made by the Labor Kepresentation Committee to all sympathisers for financial assistance towards the election campaign. This had its effect on the competitors, and the winner. Miss Bush, and the second girl. Miss Eileen Williams, on reaching the pontoon in the stream, collapsed. Miss Williams soon recovered. but it was some time before Miss Bush was in a condition to be rowed ashore. When she reached the pontoon on the shore end she again collapsed. Bonsefield. who had been seized with cramp. Another competitor, t. Carson at once stopped and swam to Bonsefield's side to oeeiet him. At the same moment a well-known swimmer. T. Ingham, sprang off a boat nearby, and both swimmers assisted Bonsefield to tbe boat. A few minutes’ rubbing brought back the circulation and Bonsefield was out of pain.
