POLITICAL OR VOLCANIC.

MR. WRAGGE'S WARNING FOR POLLING DAY.

Mr Clement Wragge has forwarded the following warning which speaks for itself:—

“Wragge Institute, Birkenhead, Auckland, Nov. 25th, 1919. People, Europeans and Maoris alike, are advised to keep away from White Island as December 17th approaches. Tho mathematical positions of the planets on that day will bo such, with respect to the sun, as to favor disturbance in the volcanic and thermal regions. There is a chance that nothing may happen, yet the astronomical figures are incontrovertible. It would be well, as the time approaches to keep away from (he immediate vicinity ol geysers; and no attempts should be made to ascend Ruapehu or other such mountains. There is no need for alarm, but ordinary prudence should be exercised.— (Signed) Clement L. Wragge.
