The Arbitration Court award for retail chemists gives registered assistants £4 17s 6d and unregistered assistants £3 15s weekly, being a 10s rise in each case. It also allowed higher pay for apprentices. The Court declined to shorten hours, or to exclude unqualified female assistants, though the latter must not be employed in dispensing drugs.
