The weather was fine and there was a good attendance for the opening day of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club's autumn meeting. The course was in excellent order. The amount of £32,705 was passed through the machine, against £25,497 on the first day last year, an increase of £72OS. Following are the results: — Mangatera Hurdles.—l Aurore (H.
