WAR IN HUNGARY
SKIRMISHES BETWEEN OUTPOSTS. THREE HUNDRED FRENCH TROOPS CAPTURED. ENEMY THREATENING ROUMANIA. United ServicesPARIS, March 30. The Conference is having a most anxious week-end. A new war has practically started in South-Eastern Europe. Hungary’s defiance cannot be overlooked. She is openly mobilised against the Allies with two avowed objects—joining the Russian Bolshevists’ military enterprises and preserving Hungary intact. Skirmishes between Magyar and French outposts are reported. The French have withdrawn in order to avoid useless encounters.

It is announced that three hundred French troops, stationed in the neutral zon© betw'een Hungary and Roumania, have been captured l>y the Hungarians.

It is reported that French troops between Hungary and Roumania were attacked, losing many prison-
ers. " ' The Hungarian army is threatening the Roumanian frontier.
ALLIANCE AGAINST ENTENTE. HUN OFFICERS FOR HUNGARIAN ARMY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 2, 12.25 a.m.) BUDAPEST, March 31. The Hungarian Government has sent a delegation to Berlin to conclude a treaty of alliance against the Entente. German officers have arrived to reorganise the Hungarian army.
