BANKRUPT MOTOR BUS DRIVER.

ESTATE OF JOHN FOSTER

The Deputy Official Assignee (Maj' or Beere) has received particulars in connection with the estate of John Foster, motor bus driver, who has been adjudged bankrupt. The amount due to unsecured creditors is given at £234 16s. Stock in trade, motor car not under mortgage is estimated at £l3O, and cash in hand amounts to 17s 6d, making the total assets £l3O 17s 6d. In the course of his persona] statement, bankrupt says :—I have been in this district for 30 years, and up to six years ago I was engaged in carting and general contracting work. Six years ago I started a motor bus Service between Gishorne and MangaiPcipci. I then, had £4OO tluit I hau saved, and this sum I invested in the motor bus service. I started with one bus, but as the business increased I acquired more plant, and at the end of 1918 I bad four busses. My brother invested the sum of £250 i n the business by advancing me that sum about 3i years ago, when 1 bought a new Kissel motor bus All that I have repaid to my brother is £25. The last two years I had competition on the road and ed in fares being cut down and the mssengers that my busses previously S S divided between th. two lines.
