CAR TAX IN AMERICA.
In connection with the tax on motor cars in the United States, an interesting table has been issued by the National Automobile Chamber of Commerce, from which it appears that the total number of cars registered as in use early this year in the U.S.A. was 5,003,182, capable of yielding a revenue estimated at £16,763,140. Cars of 23 or less h.p. will pay £2 per annum; from 24 to 30 h.p., £4; 31 to 40 h.p., £6; oyer 40 h.p.. £lO. Classified according to their horse-power, the cars are enumerated as follow :
