COMMENT OF NORTHCLIFFE PRESS.

“MANY PALPABLE MISFITS.”

(Received Jan. 13, 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 11. The Times in a, leader, states that the new Cabinet is merely a reshuffle. There are many palpable misfits, pervading an air of staleness. The Cabinet probably is intended as a stop-gap during the Peace Conference, pending the launching of a reconstruction policy, but Mr. Lloyd George lias gravely shaken confidence m his power of choosing and placing men.

The Daily Mail, in a leader, says that the old influence is too strong for Mr. Lloyd George. Many of the appointments are purely political.
