THE PALACE. “THE WOMEN IN WHITE.” “One of Pathe’s latest achievements is to filmatise Wilkie Collins’ masterpiece, “The Woman in White” and it is to he screened nt the Palace this afternoon and again to-night, with Florence la Badie as the heroine. The picture does full justice to the book, and reproduces in a surprising manner the weird atmosphere of suspense which is such a striking feature of the story. The cast is admirably suited to the various characters, especially the classic villain, Count Eosco. The story tells how Sir Perc-ival Glydc marries Laura Fairlie for her money and then schemes with Tosco to put her out of the way. The woman in white is a "half-witted girl named Ann, and she greatly resembles Laura. When Ann 'dies Glyde and Eosco substitute her dead body for Laura, -whom they place in a lunatic asylum as Ann.' The way is thug apparently open for them to appropriate Laura’s estate, but thev reckon without the interference of Marian, who is Laura’s sister, or of Hartridge. who is in love and is loved by Laura. It is a long and exciting road to the unexpected denoucement and the interest is held at a state of high tension throughout. Florence la Badie plays the dual roles of Laura and Ann with wonderful effect and the supporting cast has been finely chosen. “The Mystery of the Double Cross’’ eoisode nine, entitled “When Jail Birds Fly,” a sparkling Triangle comedy ' “His Parlour Zoo,” and the Topical Budget will be the supporting-films. Reserved seats at Miller’s Corner.

EAGER YBODY’S. “LITTLE RED DECIDES.” . The Triangle drama, “Little Red Decides,” commencing at Everybody’s to-day, is one of the sweetest stories seen for many a day. It will have a special appeal for all those who are fond of a * charming child,, who believe that the power of a child even over the roughest of hearts is almost unlimited. The story touches those half-forgotten times when the world was a new toy•and everything was wonderful and all people good. Tliq plot is very simple. A baby is left a complete orphan, and is taken by the rough men who find it to the owner of the ranch. He is a bachelor but his Chinese cook acts as nurse, and the child becomes tho idol of the . cattlemen. But illness overtakes it, and the doctor nronounces that what “Little Red” really needs is a mother. 'This gives rise to some pathetic situations, but it also gives rise to some very humorous °n e b since the men on the ranch draw lots to see who shall get married to provide “Little Red” with a mother In the end that matter is settled satisfactorily because “Little Red decides for himself. The part of “Little Red” is played by Barbara Connolly, while the part of the Chinese cook is an outstanding leatuie oi the picture and supplies some fine ac - ing and humor. Splendid. suppor - ing films will he 'shown, includ l g the Metro serieL “The Great Secret chapter 15, “The* .'J est of DeathReserved seats at Miller s Cornel.
