T.URF NOTES. (By “Sunstar.”) Our local meeting is' very near at hand, and to assist followers of the sport “rfuustar” lias decided to give more time to the doings of the horses working on the track, and from now on each morning’s gallops will be published daily. Saturday was a lovely day, and some useful work was witnessed, just on sixty horses taking part. Trainer Olive sent the Hymettus and Diabolo colts over three furlongs, making the fair time of 37* secs. Secret Code worked half-pace. Black Lace, Boggitts, and True Joy went five furlongs in 1.4. Principal Lady and the Marble Arch-Tauliei colt went five furlongs in 1.5*. Slipstitch and her stable mate Multiplane went a mile in 1.48 1-5. Master Iney, Cleft, Multifual, and Blackall went a mile together, and the first four furlongs taking 53sec, fivef urlongs 1.5 1-5, and the mile 1.46 2-5* Perfidy worked useful half-pace over two circuits. Hythread at strong half-pace. War Guard, Red Edna and Demonstrate went four furlongs from the barrier, but owing to the latter horses being caught in the tapes the start was" a bad one, and it left War Guard on his own to gallop, making fair time for the four furlongs—st! Flash Lady worked over a mile, making 1.49. Multive worked strong halt-pace over two circuits. Carlysian and King of Athol went half a mile, the last three furlongs taking 39secs. Actifid and Orawai went half a mile in 53sec. . , Hexton and Brunswick schooled over the small fences, and Brunswick gave a great exhibition of jumping. Hexton lost ground at his fences but made it up between them. it took the pair 1.49 to go the circuit. Castalia, Bjorneborg. Aurore and Con went a circuit together over the small fences, and they made the pace a cracker over the first half, all the horses fencing well and the journej taking 1.47. . Owner-trainer W- Howard lias had the bad luck to lose the services of the Multpile-Faith colt Pavilion for the meeting. While galloping lie knocked his near front leg and it has filled up very badlv which has thrown the colt out of work and there is very little hope of him fulfilling his engagements next week.
