A .FATAL FALL. Press Association- Telegram. AUCKLAND, October 8. Frank Alley, a waterside worker, aged 50 years, was removing hatches on an oversea steamer when hp fell down the hold, 40 feet, and died almost immediately. SUDDEN DEATH. WELLINGTON, October 8. Mr. J. Thompson, manager of Pearce’s boot shop in Newtown, died suddenly yesterday morning, shortly after opening his premises. He left home about 8 o’clock, and an hour or so later a passer-by Saw him sitting in the shop apparently in a helpless condition. A doctor, on arrival, found that Mr Thompson was dead. DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC. WELLINGTON, October 8. Miss Margaret Hendry, died-in hospital this morning while undergoing an anaesthetic previous to under-o-oiim an operation.
