CHILDERS ROAD BUILDINGS. IMPORTANT ALTERATIONS. Tdie Gisborne Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Company are making important alterations' to the buildings used in connection with their business in Childers Road. The company has taken over the whole of the buildings of which only part was formerly occupied by them. The interior is being completely reconstructed. The whole of the front part is to be turned into offices. The entrance will be by a new door in the centre of the building. On the extreme left of the building will be a staircase leading to the first floor. Alongside this staircase an entrance will be provided to the store on. the ground floor, the produce and stock counter, and the merchandise and the auctioneering departments, all of which will ■be contiguous to each other and easily accessible by clients. On the right of the main entrance an archway will be cut through the wall and immediately through this opening will be the desks, of the cashier and the insurance clerks. Adjoining these will be tlie private rooms of the accountant and the manager. Tlie main clerical staff will be accommodated in well-lighted offices m this part of the building. It is expected that the alterations will be completed by the end of October and then the whole of tlie merchandise carried by the company will be moved to the new premises so that clients in making purchases can transact the whole of their business in one building. The top part of the building will be used for the storage of light goods and as sample rooms.
