The Presbytery to-day decided to overture the General Assemh y take the subject of Church Union into serious consideration and take steps to inaugurate a definite government aiming at the union of the Presbyterian, Methodist, and Co - "relational churches of New Zealand and” such other Christian churches as may find it possible to come together on a basis of a common creed and common policy. . , The Presbytery also .decided to protest emphatically against the action of the New Zealand censor in prohibiting Dr. Alexander Roher son’s book, “The Roman Catholic Church in Italy,” which received, a laudatory reception from the ivm o of Italv and from the Premier (Signor Lamardielli), who characterised the hook as a scholarly work which he highly prized, and to request the immediate withdrawal of the prohibition.
