1 MATAWHEKO STOCK SALE. The P.B. Stockbrokers’ Association held their weekly sale at the Matawhero yards yesterday, when there was a good attendance and fair entries of stock. There was an entry of 525 fat sheep, and only one or two lines failed to find purchasers at auction. Ewes made up to 265, and wethers to 30s. Only 17 fat cattle were penned. Three prime Shorthorn cross cows topped the market at £l4 15s. A couple of light Shorthorn steers made £ll 7s 6d. Pigs were in poor supply, only. 10 coming forward. Slips, made 10s and porkers 255. The entries of store sheep totalled 5625. A line of 168 good forward wethers brought 29s 3d, mixed hoggets (good) made 24s 3d, 2-tli ewes 24s 4d, and fat and forward ewes 21s lOd. The yarding of store cattle totalled 373. The quality was rather poor and sales were hard to make. About 14 dairy'cattle were penned, and those offered were;, below the usual standard anu realised for the most part low prices.
