Sub-Inspector Dew returns from Napier b v the Arab lira this morning.
Dr Coker has returned from Auckland.
Colonel and Airs T. W. Porter leave for the south by the Arahura this evening.
Major Turnbull. Commandant of the local group, is on a visit to Wuiroa.

Mr. J. Pickett, postmaster at Gisborne. who is being transferred to Timaru. leaves Gisborne for the South on Sunday next.
The local members cf tlie police force assembled on Saturday evening to say farewell to Constable Nash, who has been transferred .to Greymouth. Constable Nash was presented with a travelling rug, which was accompanied by' many expressions of esteem and good wishes for the future. He left for Jus new home on Sunday night.
