The Government lias decided, in view of the seriousness of the war situation, to call out men between 19 and 24. abolishing all exemptions. Meantime the Military Service Act is being' speeded up. A Government statement points out that it is necessary to call up men between the ages of 19 and _4, because the critical situation on the West front lias rendered reinforcements imperative. . Tlie Government regulations calling up men over 19 will be submitted to Parliament on Thursday. The regulations abolish the existing tih bunals and exemption machinery, and also empowers the Government to divide tlie men into classes and to utilise them for the oversea forces or some _ tasks according to their ages and qualifications.
