The Mayor, Mr. W.G Sherratt has returned to Gisborne from the South. He leaves town again to-day returning on Saturday.
A Press Association telegram- from Christchurch states that Mrs Bishop, wife of Mr. H.-W. Bishop senior magistrate at Christchurch, died last night.
A Press Association cable from Melbourne states that Mr A - formerly manager of the union Steamship Company in lip, appointed manager of the Common wealth Steamship Line.
