BUTTER AND CHEESE PURCHASE.
FINAL -SETTLEMENT NOT YET REACHED.
By Telegraph—Special Correspondent. WELLINGTON, Nov. 0. No final settlement has yet been mad'e about the purchase by the .Imperial Government of the butter and cheese output of the Dominion. The representatives of the who have been dealing with the Prime Minister in the negotiations that have been going on recently have accepted the offer of the imperial Government for both commodities on certain conditions- The important condition desired by the sellers at this end is that some provision be made for financing the purchase before the butter or cheese is actually shipped. The farmers desire to have an advance when the prodxict has gone into cool store. If there is no provision for something or the sort the finances of dairy factories will'be very seriously embarrassed, and, in some cases, it may become impossible for them to go on. Mr Massey hopes that some such provision as that for which the moducers are asking may be made, but he has not yet received, advice to_ this effect from r the Imperial Government.
