MANGAPAPA TOWN BOARD
LAST EVENING’S MEETING. The Mangapapa Town Board met last evening. Present: Messrs W. J. McCliskie (eliairman) C. A. Fenwick, W. H. Shai'pin, J. R, Redstone. Apologies were received from Messrs Howartli, Matthews and Grnndy. Messrs Johns and Howell submitted offer for painting name plates for streets; Mr G. Boardman, Mangapapa, also submitted, an offer. — Held, over till next meeting. A letter was received from the Board of Trade intimating the retail price list proposed to be used by Mr F. R. Hill, butcher, Mangapapa, .and deeming the same to be reasonable.— Received. Air V. Nossiter, Upper Stout street, complained of stock wandering at large on Elim township roads, and suggested a prosecution as a remedy. —The clerk was instructed to advise Air Nossiter that if he _ is prepared to give evidence an information will he laid. Messrs Nolan and Skeet forwarded memorandum of transfer of land in lot 8 D-P. 1710 Whataupoko, for purposes of a road. —The chairman and Air Sharpin and the secretary to execute the transfer and affix the seal of the Board to the dedication. F. R. Hill applied for permission to erect a hitching rail in front of his shop.—Granted. . . J Sutherland complained about the Board’s horses damaging his property and claiming £2 damages It was decided that the Boa id disclaim liability. . . Five tenders were received for tbe supply of gravel, that of Air R. AlcShane at 10s 9d per cubic yard being accepted subject to the giavef being up to sample.
