IMPENDING CHANGES IN CABINET.
■<?>• — AIR HE RDM AN TO BE MADE A JUDGE. Now that the Parliamentary session is over certain arrangements which have long been in comtemplation by the Cabinet arc to be carried out (says the New Zealand Times). . It has been understood for a considerable time that Mr A. L. Herdman is to relinquish the Attorney-. General’s portfolio for seat on the Supreme Court Bench in succession to Air Justice Denniston, and it was stated in poltical circles yesterday that this change will certainly come about within the present month. This will call for two Cabinet appointments to fill the fresh vacancy which will be created and the longstanding one by the death or Dr McNab. AVhy another Liberal Minister has not been selected, long since to succeed the late Dr AlcNah has. been a matter of surprise among politicians throughout the season. It will be seen that amongst the earliest political events of the recess will be a double by-election m the constituencies represented by Air llerdman and Air P. C. AVebb.
