TRAMWAY EXTENSIONS

PROPOSAL FOR EXTENSION TE HAPARA.

A report was received by the BA ough Council last evening from it Tramway Committee with referent to a proposal to extend the tramwa system to the Park Racecourse, lb report was as under:—“The Mayc reported that a deputation from it Gisborne Racing Club liad waited o him to ascertain if there was an chance ox the trams being extence to the Park, seeing that the Te Hr para area is shortly to be merged iut the Borough, and after discussion ( the matter it was decided to recon mend that the Engineer be asked t prepare an estimate of the cost ft extending the service under tile ft lowing heads: —(a) Extension of tree and necessary rolling stock to Par gate; (h) extension of track fro: Park gate to Childers Road, Gisborm Item (a) could be provided by a lea raised on Te Hapara area, and it-*: ■(b) could be paid bv Gisborne Hac-m Club.”
