C. ; Williamson L-td.’s brief pantomime season, arrangements have been made wherebv the box . plans will open at the Opera House on Friday next at 10 a.m. sharp, where • Mr. Miller’s j staff will be in attendance. There are j to be three performances only—two j Light presentations, viz.. Monday and j Tuesday next and a matinee on Tues- j day at'l.4s p.m. Such lias been the . enormous success of ‘‘The House that j Jack Built” that hundreds have been j unable to gain admission wherever it 1 has been shown in the Dominion, it . comes with a great Australian repu- j tation. and is claimed to be the most , successful and attractive pantomime j that the firm has as yet offered to the j public. The nursery rhymes of Jack s , simple architectural cssav and those ; who took advantage of it. is told dii- I ectly the curtain rises, by pencil on a huge slate and school children s choruses, which follow each item as it is figured. Thereafter all is brilliant extravaganza, burlesque, ballets^ spectacular pageants and clever' specialty turns. There are six newcomers ‘in the cast, and judging by contemporary critics their success has never been lot a moment in doubt j since the inaugural opening in Axel- j bourne last Christmas. Miss Helda • Guiver is reported, as possessing every qualification for “Jack.” the princi- , pal bov. not the least being a rich, j far-reaching voice, and an appealing manner that makes her favorite on the instant. Miss Gretclien Yates, is said to be equally well placed as principal girl, of course a princess as j dainty, bright, and light-hearted as one could wish.' Another newcomer is Aliss Constance Cayley, who has made marked successes with her songs “Anzac,” “Same. Night Same Waltz,” etc. The leading knockabout comedian.” Mr. Harry Roxbury, is credited with extraordinary tofts—which enable him to fulfil hm mission of fun-making to perfection. ATr Arthur Stigant lias proved him self heretofore the best- of Dames, and is credited this year with Ins best achievement in that direction. M . W Fullbrook is an eccentric comedian and light clever dancer ot merit—-at least so says report.
