Sir Douglas Haig reports that we followed np yesternight’s success south-west of Lens and substantially progressed astride tlie Soucliez river oil a front of ly miles. We repulsed a raid south-east_ of Ypres. There was heavy air fighting yesterday] eleven of the enemy’s machines were downed and five of ours are missing. . A French communique says:—there is sustained reciprocal artillerying north of Laffaux Mill and the sectors of Craonne and Chevreux. twelve hundred shells have been thrown on Rheims.
