MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE .

The weekly meeting .of the Management Committee oi the P.B. Rugby Union was held last evening, the following members being present:— Messrs'. W. Howard (chairman), E. Featoij. Duggan, P. Edmondson, L. J. Plank, A. Murray, C. Stephenson, M. MacKinnon and J. C. E, Turner (lion. sec). Ah apology was received from' Mr. F. McDonald for unavoidable absence.

The case of R. Eaton, a player ordered off the field for allegedly striking an opponent during the progress of a match was considered. After hearing evidence from both referee and player, it was decided to suspend the player for two weeks. Reference was made by members of the Committee to the behaviour of certain spectators during the progress of matches, and it was decided to deal severely with persons misbehaving themselves on the ground during future matches.

A complaint was received from the Hockey Association that a certain spectator had made insinuating remarks about the referee during the progress of the seven-a-side tournament on King’s Birthday. It was decided that "the person referred to should be written to asking for an explanation. In connection with the seven-a-side tournament, a vote of thanks was passed to the Hockey Association lor the assistance given in running tho competition. Mr. W. Howard offered a trophy, which was accepted by the Committee, to be used for a future Ladies’ Hockey Tournament, to take place in about six weeks’ time. It was decided to purchase caps for the winners of the Rugby tournament on King’s Birthday, same to be the property of the winners, Kaiti-City A.

After apportioning accounts in connection with the tournament, a sum of £5 was voted to the Returned Soldiers’ Association' for use in connection with their club proposals. Registrations were received and passed for No. 7 Company and KaitiCity Clubs. Boys’ High School were' granted tlie use of/ the Domain on Thursday afternoons in connection with a school competition. Mr. L. J. Plank was, instructed to purchase footballs to the value of £3 for use of schools taking part in the competition. L ’ A vote of thanks was passed to

A motion passed at a previous meeting arranged for the High School byes to be played at the end of the first round, in consequence of which there will only lie one senior fixture on the. next two Saturdays. .
