MILITARY SERVICE BOARD
ATTITUDE OF THE SHEARERS
(Press Association Telegram.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 30
Mr. C. Grayndler, secretary of the Agricultural and Pastoral Workers’ Union, has forwarded a. letter to the Minister for Defence, announcing that m future he will act for the shearers, for whom he has already applied for exemption. Mr. Grayndler says that as the Military Service Board to-day adjourned the shearers’ appeals for fourteen days and decided to summon the appellants to appear personally before the Boards in their -espective districts, lie cannot appear for any other than those heard in Wellington. Mr. Grayndler states that he is instructed by Lis organisation to protest against the personnel of the Board, insofar as a great majority of rural workers are unrepresented thereon and members are not getting a fair deal according to the provisions of the Act. Further, that the Labor representatives appointed do not directly represent the workers of the Dominion.
