COMBINED EFFORT NEEDED. (Australian and N.Z Gable Assn./ LONDON, Jan. 2b. Mr. Hayes-Fisher, speaking at Ealing, said the loan must be raised Dy the combined efforts ot millions o citizens. The war would not be finished in 1917 unless we were prepared for still greater privations. IBe cost, of the war to Germany was about tl e same as to England. We would emerge impoverished naturally but Germany would be bankrupt. British money would be forthcoming if »e only thought of the thousands ox splendid lives already given. Ot fi e thousand in die country to-day vj lost an arm or a leg there weie 2200 men in France who had tot cyesig and millions were ready to give then <xll in freedom’s cause.
