COAL SHORTAGE.
SEVERELY FELT IN FRANCE

The shortage and exorbitant price of coal ate adding to the intensity of effect of the severe frost. The Government are taking steps to meet the dearth.
The canals of Paris have begun to freeze, further handicapping the coal transport.
