OFF TO CAMP.

TILE 18th REINFORCEMENTS

DRAFT MORE THAN FULL. Gisborne’s quota, for tlic 18th Reinforcements, which left last night by the Araliura, in charge of Captain H. A King, totals 45 all told, being slightly in excess of the increased number culled for, but not up to the usual number required. Several men included in the draft pick up the main body on the way to camp, or report at Trentham. The recruits paraded on Saturday afternoon, and again last evening, when the Ladies Committee supplied them with the usual gifts. The draft was farewelled by Mr. R. M. Birrell. Chief Recruiting Officer, and Lieut. Kinder, of the National Reserve. In short addresses the men were wished every luck and a safe return, and the conviction was expressed that they would keep up the high reputation gained by the New Zealand troops who had already reached the front, or who were in camp. Headed by tho City Band and the National Reserve, the recruits marched to the Tuatea, where a large crowd had assembled) despite the inclement weather, to see them off.
