TREACHERY IN FRANCE.
ROUTE INDICATED BY LIGHTS
LONDON, Feb. 3,
During the Zeppelin raids on Paris brilliant red lights pointed out the route. The press demands a rigorous search for treacherous signallers. The “Evening News” comments on the Salonika raid as a fresh proof of the extraordinary Zeppelin activity. It is computed that there are ten Zeppelins capable of long distance raids, and that six or seven were concerned in the raid on England. One is reported as flying over Paris, and we now hear of an eighth or ninth at Salonika. It may be the Zeppelin which made a dramatic journey to Sofia. The commander asked King Ferdinand when he would set out for the front, fearing air raids on the palace. He replied: “It is better to pass the winter here. Sofia is 150 miles almost due north of Salonika.”
