A remand was made at .Liverpool n the case of an elderly German named Robert Julius Hamer, reported to bo the owner of mining estates m the United States worth £18,000,000, avlio was charged with having entered Liverpool without police permission, and with having given false information to an hotelkeeper.. To tins'© charges he pleaded , guilty. , In July of last year the accused came to London from the Unitcu States• with the .intention of disposing of some of* his estates, ana apnarently lie had stayed in London since then. When arrested at Liverpool he was about to return to America.
