Troopers Wm. A. Breckin and Peter Foxley are returning from the front on the" Willochra, which reaches Port Chalmers towards the end or the month. They left Gisborne with the Legion of Frontiersmen under Lieut. Twistleton, and were attached to the Otago Mounted Rinc-s. The annual report of the C.E.M.S. states that the ic-llowing Wair.pu members of the C-E-M.S. have fallen in action: Major George Cuthbert Mayne (Gisborne), Corporal E. L-a (Opotiki), and Private E. H. Sheppard (Tauranga). Captain E. G. Fraser, adjutant of the Auckland Infantry Battalion, v. .-:n returned invalided to Auckland some months ago, after having been severelv wounded on two occasions at Gallipoli, appeared before the Medical Board on Friday. He received instructions to_ report to headquarters and arrived in Wellington by the Main Trunk express on Saturday.
Dr. A. A. Martin who saw service with the R-A.M.C. m -b landers early in the war, is likelv (says the Manawatu “Standard”) to be' going to the front again shortly, to serve "in the New Zealand Medical Corps. Dr Martin recently published a book on his experiences, under the title. “A Surgeon in Khaki.” After his return do New Zealand Dr. Martin was a member _ of the Trentham Inquiry Commission.
