ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT
CHANGES PROPOSED
The Electrical O mirittee of ■ tlbe Borough Council reported to the Council last night that at a meeting of the committee held on January 12 the question of the better working of the electric power station was the subject for discussion, and after making exhaustive inquiries from the Electrical Engineer and the Charge Engineer (Mr. Murray),, the committee cam© to tho conclusion that in order to place the working of the v wetstation on a satisfactory- footi jj, it was essential that tho whole management of same should be entrusted to the engineer-in-charge (Mr. Murray), who was to have full command and bo responsible for tho working of the station, with power to order what was required, and to report direct to the Council through the Electrical Engineer ; also, that Mr. Windier should be appointed second engineer, his salary to be increased to £220, whilst that of Mr. Murray should be £200; also, that proper agreements be drawn up. The committee recommended accordingly.—Tho report was adopted.
