THE J. B. VARIABLE GEAR MOTOR CYCLE.
FIRST MACHINE ON EXHIBITION LOCALLY.
The shareholders in Johns, Bannister and Co., Ltd., and also the general public will he interested _ m th® motor-cycle now being exhibited m Messrs. Parnell’s show window. This is the ’> first of the long-expected “Maori” motor-cycles incorporating the company’s patent “J. 8.” variable gear. Tho company’s London attorneys have had well-nmh over whelm mg difficulties to contend with in producing- these machines. Practically every machine shop in England has had to" abandon their ordinary work for the making of munitions. But at last tho first batch of machines has been completed, and arrangements made for a regular though small output. As will he seen, the machine is of exceptionally clean design, and embodies a number of improvements on standard types. The long delay has ?Il a t>led Mr. Bannister, who is responsible tor tho designing, to go into details very thoroughly. He has carefully studied the requirements of the motor-cycling public as reflected by the motor prcs9, and has set himself the task of providing tho features most desired, lho present model now on view is evidence that he has succeeded admirably. The gear is mainly responsuno for the attainment of* the designer’s object-. Road demonstrations will be given at an early date. *
