The popular serial photoplay “The Ms aster Key” is being continued at t!H> World’s Pictures this afternoon and evening. The last instalment showed when John Dore had been entrapped by Hindoos under Srnithers’ instructions. Ruth discovers this and pleads for John’s release . Srnithers consents to release the prisoner upon Ruth promising to become Mrs Srnithers. Meanwhile at the temple tlie high priest has vowed vengeance against Srnithers’ Hindus. His men start out to make a tour of the hotels to find Srnithers and Dore. As they come up the street, Ruth is attending Dore, and Srnithers is outside. The porter allows the mob to enter, as he fears the high priest’s anger. Ruth, Dore, and Srnithers escape to a courtyard. where Ruth sees the beggar she has befriended. The mob reach the court. The beggar leads them to a Mind passage whilst he helps Ruth, Dore, and Srnithers to escape in a cart. The high priest decides to send the idol to another tumble for safety. Wilkerson, Mrs Darnell, and Drake hear of the riot, and Wilkerson bribes a guide to find out where the idol is. He then hires a gang of roughs to waylay the party and obtain the idol. They kill all the priests and the idol is found. Wilkerson extracts the plans of the Master Key mine.

RATHE PICTURES. With their customary enterprise the Rathe Picture management l ave arranged for something special lor Gisborne’s carnival week. A brilliant now programme will he screened, tonight, which Should afford the holiday crowd an opportunity of rounding off the day’s festivities very pleasantly. The star attraction will be a stirring 3,500 foot film, entitled “The DareDevil Circus Queen,” which features the most thrilling set of adventures ever screened. It portrays the most perilous ride ever undertaken by a circus performer, and is acknowledged to he the best circus film ever produced. A film which should prove of absorbing interest will be “Within the German Linos.” The Germans are very anxious to curry favor with the American press. An Englishman who has spent some time on the American dailies took advantage of this to secure quite a number of* films for the German War Department He took a second negative, which was smuggled out of Germany. This is a copy of one of the smuggled pictures. The Vitagraph players will he seen in “The Sisters,” a story of two girls who mot with a great temptation. It is notable for its strong dramatic moments and great emotional tension. “'ldle Trcanous” will present an exquisite series of views of tho palace built by Louis XIV. and Louis XV. in the Park at Versailles. The Keystone merrymakers will submit “Wished on Mabel,” a succession of laughable incidents, which fairly scintillate with wholesome fun and irresistible humor. Tho latest “Rathe Gazotto” will servo up a long succession of war items, including close views of the troops of Britain and her Allies. This big list of attractions can he screened. for tonight only, as a grand double bill, consisting of pictures and vaudeville items by the members of the “Fun on the Bristol” Company will bo presented to-morrow night.
